Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all your loved ones! We find observes now in the holy season of Advent; a time of waiting and preparing for the coming of Our Savior, Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, the Redeemer of the world. We rejoice that we are saved personally, that our loved ones too, who have gone before us, now experience the peace of resting in Christ, that He gives us opportunities to meet him everyday in the Sacraments, and in the poor and needy who cross our path each day.
Do not let this holy season of Advent pass by without taking advantage of the many graces available to us. Deepen your spiritual life with frequent attendance at Holy Mass, pray the Rosary and come closer to the mystery of the Incarnation, go to one of the several Penance services being held in our parishes, to make ourselves pure receptacles of Christ’s presence at Christmas. If we make the time and effort in these ways, our Christmas will be more blessed that in years past.
Essential also, is our reaching out to the Christ who resides in the poor and needy. There Christ awaits our love and kindness as a part of our belief that He is our Savior and Redeemer. Show him now through ministering to Him in those in need.
Our Order is loved greatly by the Lord. We are among His closest friends. As such, we are more compelled to serve Him in His Church and in our world. It is my fervent prayer that you experience great joy and holiness this Christmas. Stay especially close to loved ones and your Church, and my prayer will be answered.
May God bless and may Mary keep us always in His love!
