Two Saturday evenings ago I took a fall and tore my quadriceps tendons. Surgery was successful but I am looking at a lengthy rehab period which I am doing at my sisters. I am begging for your prayers that this period will also be successful. I just warn all of us older brothers to be careful, falling at our age is not a good thing.
But now to greater things! The holy season of Lent. Why do we sometimes lament the coming of Lent? I think we don't like penance generally and centering on it for 40 days seems excessive. Then we try our best at doing penance (giving up something) and fail and feel bad about that.
Instead lets try doing something more instead of giving up something. Reach out more to someone in need, make a phone call to a lonely neighbor, be extra sensitive to your spouse, spend more time in prayer or daily Mass. Lets DO things instead of give up things. And also keep in mind, the end is Easter. With no cross there is no resurrection. All of you will be in my prayers for a holy and grace filled Lent and a very glorious Easter!
May God bless us and may Mary keep us always in His love!
