I'm writing today on the Memorial Feast of St. Padre Pio. At Pio is a powerfully active saint, working hard to obtain grace for many physical and more importantly, spiritual miracles.
I bring him to your attention and recall one of his most famous sayings that when presented with an intercession or some problem, he would advise, "Pray, hope and don't worry."
In these days we are confronted with many realities that might trouble us. Family problems, Church problems, problems in our Order, our Council or maybe personal struggles; all these can effect our souls so as to make us unable to be open to God's grace, the power that can overcome all problems and struggles. And so the reason for prayer, our communication with God. And so the advise to hope, the virtue that sees God present in all things, and the advise to not worry, for it is a wasteful exercise that produces nothing!
Let us pray that we can be faithful brothers of Christ and faithful brothers of Padre Pio: Pray, hope and don't worry!
May God Bless You and May Mary Keep You Always in His Love!
